The particular location of the property in the flood zone of the Fulda river formed starting point for planning. From the slope of Auedamm, a terrace was projected into the green area of the existing outdoor pool. This terrace absorbs all of the new pool areas, including the new pool for swimmers and non-swimmers in the outdoor pool. Architecturally composed through overhanging roof areas and individual walls, open and protected areas for pool visitors were created, and directing the area towards south-west offered ideal conditions for a relaxation area for guests.

The play areas, the listed diving tower and diving pool and the children’s pool as individual “islands” in the lower area of the outdoor pool stood out in contrast to the usage and construction-related linear layout of the indoor facility and the upper bathing level. The park-like landscape offered outdoor pool guests primarily sunny areas for relaxing. The levels were connected by a spacious staircase and ramp.
