New permanent exhibition
Jewish Museum Berlin

Jewish history and present in Germany

On more than 3,600 square meters, the new permanent exhibition shows the history of Jews in Germany from the Middle Ages to the present with new focal points and new scenography. Daniel Libeskind's architecture can be experienced in a new way and allows characteristic "Libeskind moments" such as the unusual window pictures or the empty spaces of the Voids to stand out impressively.

The tour through the exhibition alternates between historical epochs and insights into Jewish themes beyond geographical and temporal boundaries. Exhibition themes were designed as strong spaces conveying the different contents and attitudes.

In addition to the presentation of over 1000 original objects, a variety of audiovisual media, virtual reality, art installations, interactive games and hands-on stations were designed. The exhibition architecture adapts the materials of the Libeskind building in a variety of ways, creating a new experiential interplay between it and the exhibition.

The New Permanent Exhibition has been re-opened to the public since August 2020
